Day 29


Day 28

Today I had my counseling internship this morning and it really showed me how unprepared I am when I have appointments of if I had a full-time job. I really need to take the time to prepare my day which means I need to prepare my food so I won't get caught off guard when I have morning activities.

Day 27

I went to bed last night at 11:30 after getting in 10 mins of Wii and doing my shred-it workout around 8:30p. I woke up this morning around 8:30a. My son also woke up around the same time so I guess going to bed between 10-11:30 will do the trick as far as getting a good night's rest without missing the whole next day. Because when I was going to bed at 3:30a I wasn't getting up until 11a or 12p the next day. Sometimes it would be 1p or 2p...I know, ridiculous right? When you are trying to lose weight you have to get enough sleep or your body will still hold on to that weight. You won't lose weight faster even if you are on a diet and exercising regularly...at  least that how my body works.  No rest equals no weight loss.

Day 26

I did my Shred-It/30 mins. Not much else going on but I am retaining water...isn't that great!! We women have to go through alot! I am trying to get on a sleeping schedule that has me waking up at 7,8 , or 9...not 12,1,or2p. So I am trying to get in bed by 11p and not 3 or 4a. 

Day 25

I really killed it today! I did 47mins/17secs on the Wii (EA Sports-More Workouts) and 15 mins of Shred. You can purchase the Wii game from Amazon. I do have it on my fav workout gear below.

Day 23

Today I really kicked it up with my exercise. I did 17 mins of Wii Running and 30 mins of Shred-it/Level 1. Now I'm pooped! I bought my lean cuisine dinners (I can't wait until they go back on sale!).

Day 22

Ok, I started my Jillian Michaels Shred-It. It wasn't to bad. The kettleball does add alot of resistance. So I think I will add the Wii running and 6 Weeks abs 5 days a week.

Day 21

I am supposed to start my Jillian Michaels challenge tomorrow. I do the shred-it and abs. I will do the shred-it every day and the abs 5 days a week. I might even add in a running exercise on the week.

Wish me Luck and Pray that I get through the next 8 weeks. In order to maximize my challenge, I will probably purchase lean cuisine meals or healthy choice. I will juice in the morning and eat breakfast items like whole wheat toast. an egg, bacon, whole wheat/oat cereal, or oatmeal, things like that. I just don't have alot of time to cook right now especially while I am in school but I don't want to continue to eat out.

I hope that I can see some significant amount of weight come off.

I tried the new Wii active games. I plan to do their 30 day challenge after I do the Jillian Michaels for 8 weeks.

I got behind in my school work so I have to pull an all nighter. When I do this I usually have some issues with snacking. Tonight I ate whatever I was going to eat for dinner and stopped there. Once I get on track with my schedule I should be able to plan my meals and eat a better variety of food.

Day 17

I was eating all kinds of bad food today. I didn't get to eat until 2:30-3 which ended up being pizza and later after I helped with one of the cleaning contracts(great exercise by the way!) I ate out very late.
My Jillian Micheal's dvd came in and I went shopping and they had the Wii active workout games on clearance. So after my 8 week Jillian Micheal's challenge, I will  do 30 days of the wii fit games or biggest loser.

Day 16

Today I started on my green drink cleanse where I juice until dinner. It will help me possibly lose weight (fat and water weight) and detox a little.  I want to start my Jillian Michaels 8 week challenge but I haven't received one of the dvds yet.

Day 14

Today I think I did ok with my food although I didn't have much of a variety. I did my boxing and added an extra 5 minutes. I think I will do this workout for my cardio. I am still waiting for my Jillian Michaels dvds to come in. I did receive one but I want to do both together. I also bought all the veggies/fruit for the Dr. Oz Green Drink. I think doing this the first week of my Jillian Michael's fitness challenge will help with losing a few pounds and water weight. Speaking of...I have not been drinking enough water. I need to get on it!

Day 13

I think I may have over eaten!! I tried to recreate these fish tacos but using perch instead of tilapia. Perch is only 80 calories per 3oz. (which is great!!) tilapia is about 100 calories. I got low calories tortilla's but I think adding fries set me over on my calorie intake.

I hope to do better...but at least I am aware. The first step is admitting or acknowledging you have a problem! lol

Day 12

Today was slow. I did my boxing workout but I should have done more. I am looking for my Jillian Michaels dvd in the mail which could take some time because of all the snow and ice. I am ready to see a big amount of weight be removed from my body!!!! I want to lose at least 10lbs before the month is over.

Day 11

Today I was faced with a dilemma most people trying to lose weight face. I really was suffering from cabin fever and wanted to get out of the house because we have been cooped up for a week due to being snowed in. We decided to go out to eat. I started to panic because I didn't want to mess up my diet. I looked up the restaurant's website and luckily they had calorie info for all their meals. I chose to eat a cup of chili that ended up being 191 calories. YAY for me! Being able to eat out is difficult when you are trying to eat right and lose weight and maintain a certain weight.

Day 10

I got up and weighted myself this morning and it said I gained 5lbs. I hope it's only water weight because I will be totally disappointed in myself if it's not. I have been trying to decide if I will do a cleanse or detox and which one it will be. I looked up some on GNC's website but I don't feel comfortable doing a cleanse or detox if I don't know what's in it. So I decided to use Dr. Oz's Green drink as a detox. I will juice till dinner. I ordered my Jillian Michaels DVDs so they should be in this week or next week . When I start those, I am thinking about doing this juice'til dinner for two days out of the week for the next eight weeks just to see how it affects my body, exercise level, and how it makes me feel with my meals.

The recipe for the Green Drink is:

Ingredients
2 cups spinach
2 cups cucumber
1 head of celery
1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root
1 bunch parsley
2 apples
Juice of 1 lime
Juice of 1/2 lemon

Directions
Combine all ingredients in a blender. This makes approximately 28-30 ounces, or 3-4 servings

This will help me detox and, with water, remove excess fluid.

Day 9

I played outside again in the snow for an hour and worked out for 34 minutes at the gym. I feel like I over ate at dinner. It's hard to track everything you eat sometimes on sparkpeople.com because they don't have all the food you can eat or it can be difficult if you don't measure out the food when you eat and tonite that was my mistake. I also feel that I didn't log in my food after I ate so I couldn't remember what else I may have eaten.

Day 8

I lost 6lbs! I feel more of a reward because I know that I am doing it the old fashion way. My workout was fun today. I played outside in the snow why my husband and son for an hour. When we finished my toes, legs, arms, and face was frozen. I really wanted to eat out so I made sure that throughout the day I ate the minimal amount of calories so that I had enough calories left over to eat the tilapia tacos at Twisted Taco.

These meals calculated out to equal 1468 calories. You can still have some of the foods you like but you have to be very mindful of what you eat and how much you eat. It's really all about portion control.

Day 7

IT'S BEEN A WEEK!!! I made it through the first week and I made it without passing out!!! While reflecting on the past week, I know that I will have to make a few adjustments in my diet and workout plans. I need to eat more veggies and greens and fruit. I also need to push myself with the workouts that I do. I need do more intense cardio and strength training workouts. I hope to lose at least 20lbs this month!

Day 6

Today I tried the Tracy Anderson workouts that she has posted on YouTube. They are pretty intense. I think I will try to do those once a day to see if I see any change in my body. I just ordered the Jillian Michaels 6 weeks Abs and Shred-it with Weights. I will do both for 6-8 weeks plus my daily cardio and see if I have lost any weight or toned up.

Day 5

Today I got out of the house a got a few things done. Since I gained this weight I have become a hermit. I am going to try to get out the house at least once everyday so I can break this habit of closing myself off to the world. I ate well and today and got my workout in on my stationary bike. I need to get out and work out at the gym where I have a membership.

Day 4

Well today was strange! I woke with some serious dizziness. I don't know if it's my body adjusting to the lesser amount of calories. But ANYWAY, today I felt so sluggish but I tried to get my food intake in. When you skip meals your body thinks you are starving so they try to hold on to any fat. So in order to continue to increase my metabolism I try to keep up with my small meals. On days that I feel sluggish or anxious I tend to not eat at all. So I kept that in mind.

Day 3

So far so good! Today was good. I did get busy and forgot to eat. BIG NO-NO! When you start eating to get your metabolism up you have to eat several small meals throughout the day. When you skip one of those meals your body reacts. My body yelled at me by giving me a great BIG headache and said EAT SOMETHING!

I did 30 minutes on the bike. I did 10 more minutes than yesterday! Trying to get my stamina back!

I have been trying to get to bed by 11p. Last nite it was 12a. I'm getting closer and closer-it used to be 3am!!

Day 2

I think I did pretty well for day 2. I was able to really focus on what I put in my mouth! I made sure to pay attention to my portion control. I want to do this right by eating regular food and not processed or "diet food." I ate things I like but things that were healthy.

I used sparkpeople.com to calculate how many calories each item had that I ate. They have a great system. I stayed under 1300 calories and still ate things I like. I worked out for 20 mins on the bike. I hope to be up to an hour by next week. I am thinking about trying several Jillian Michaels Shred-it for 6 weeks, 6 weeks abs, and her 5 disc complete body workout for 6 weeks. I will try to do the abs workout with each of the total body workout discs. It's alot to do but I want results so I have to put in alot of work. I will use sparkpeople.com to keep up with my daily workouts and what I am eating. I use this blog to keep myself accountable.

Day 1

Last night was my first day. I feel I didn't do too bad but not as great as I could have as far as eating and working out. I need to workout an hour a day. I only worked out for 23 minutes. I can do better and I will.
